Title of Talk
3D printing utilization in the production of personalized implants

Abstract
The medical device industry was one of the first to adopt additive production from metallic materials more than 15 years ago. Today, 3D printing is playing an increasingly important role in the field of custom-made implantable devices. This technology offers a number of advantages over conventional production methods. However, it also requires new product design procedures and product manufacturability rules. This presentation shows step-by-step how the design and production of personalized joint replacements for cancer patients takes place and how the additive Powder Bed Fusion technology can be used for this purpose.
